Martin Parr's contrary ideal

Stockholm (1992)

'Small World is about the difference between reality and mythology of a tourist location,' explains Parr.
I found this sereis by Parr only a few months after I traveled to Europe this past Summer. What I connected with in this work was how he captured strangers in the right moment to show his point. Martin Parr's photographs show monuments and tourist sights in a way that counter the ideal photographic moment.  They go beyond travel photographs and voyeuristically document the traveler.
